When you cannot pick up, an automated receptionist answers, takes the job down and sends it to you. A caller who hangs up first gets a text back.
- Answers the calls you miss. Your phone company forwards a call to it only when you do not pick up or the line is busy.
- Says it is an automated assistant, asks what is going on, and takes a name and a town.
- Already has the caller's number, so you can call straight back.

Forwarded call
You did not pick up. The receptionist did. Thanks for calling Meadow Ridge Heating & Air. We could not get to the phone, so this is the automated assistant. I can take your details and get them to the team right away.
What can we help you with?
Hi, yeah, my AC quit this afternoon and it is getting hot in the house.
Got it.
Can I get your name?
Dana Whitfield
What town or ZIP code is the job in?
Brentwood
Thanks, Dana. I am sending this to the team at Meadow Ridge Heating & Air now, and they have the number you called from. If a different number is better, say it now. Otherwise, you can hang up.

Meadow Ridge Heating & Air is invented. The words are what the software writes for it. The demo further down this page is the real thing.
HOW IT WORKS
Four steps, start to finish.
You keep your number
I give you a second number and walk you through forwarding unanswered calls to it. Nothing changes for your customers.
You miss a call
On a job, on another call, after hours. The receptionist picks up instead of your voicemail.
It takes the job down
Three short questions at most: what is going on, who is calling, and what town.
You get it in writing
What they said, their number, and whether it is urgent, while it is still worth calling back.
Ready to start?Send your hours, services and area once. I set it up from that and show it to you working before anything is switched on.

What the caller hears, and what you get.
An evening call to an invented HVAC company after it has closed for the day.

This is real output. The receptionist’s lines and the email were produced by the software itself, for an invented business. Only the caller’s words were written by me.
WOULD IT PAY FOR ITSELF
Do the sum with your own number.
Type what a typical job brings in and this does the sum. It is your number and plain arithmetic on the $199 a month. I do not know how many jobs it will bring you, and I will not guess.
That is revenue, before your own costs on the job. Missed-call receptionist is month to month, so the test is cheap: run it for a month, count what came from it on your private page, and stop if the count does not cover it.
DETAILS AND QUESTIONS
The details, when you want them.
Everything included in the $199 a month
- Answers the calls you miss. Your phone company forwards a call to it only when you do not pick up or the line is busy.
- Says it is an automated assistant, asks what is going on, and takes a name and a town.
- Already has the caller's number, so you can call straight back.
- Sends you the details as the call ends, by email, and by text once text alerts are set up.
- Hears emergency words, gives the safety step first and, if you have an on-call number, connects the caller to it.
- A caller who hangs up without a word still reaches you as a missed-call alert with their number.
- Texts back a caller who hangs up before the job is taken down: one text from your business asking what they need. Their reply comes to you as a lead.
- Can text a caller who did leave the job a short confirmation, if you want that on.
- Recognizes a sales pitch and does not pass it on as a lead.
- Speaks Spanish if you want it to.
Up to 300 minutes of answered calls a month.
What it does not do
- It covers the calls you would otherwise lose. It does not replace you answering.
- It does not record audio or take voicemail. What the caller said is kept as text.
- It does not book jobs, quote a price you have not published, or promise a time.
- Speech recognition is not perfect, so every alert carries the caller's number as well as what it heard.
- Texts start once your business's texting registration is approved. It only texts people who called: one text a day at most, never at night, never after they reply STOP.
What I need from you, and the terms
Call forwarding on no answer, set up with your phone company (I walk you through it), and an on-call number if you have one.
Month to month. No contract and no setup fee. Cancel any time and it stops at the end of the month you paid for. Built for the businesses I build websites for. Most of them also work on a site somebody else built, so ask.
Do I have to change my number?
No. You keep your number. Your phone company forwards a call only when it is not answered.
What does the caller hear?
That they have reached your business, that nobody could get to the phone, and that this is the automated assistant. Then it asks what they need.
Is the call recorded?
No audio is recorded. What the caller said is kept as text so you can read it.
What counts as a minute?
Time the receptionist is on a call, rounded up to the minute for each call.
What about robocalls?
A number that calls over and over within an hour is cut off, and a sales pitch is not sent to you as a lead. Those calls still use minutes.
$199 A MONTH / NO CONTRACT
Ask me whether it would pay for itself.
Tell me roughly how your month goes and I will tell you honestly whether this is worth it for a business your size, or whether your money is better spent somewhere else first.
